At Alpha we are about helping churches, congregations and individuals change lives, strengthen marriages and grow themselves in their christian faith! Essentially to transform society! We get to hear some amazing stories of lives changed and we love to share them with you.

Sarah & the Wedding Expo
My Husband Steve and I are sold on the Marriage Preparation Course. We ran two of them for our church last year, and believe it is such a good resources to promote to engaged couples who don’t go to church as well as our own. It’s hard to reach these couples to invite them to do the course. We know they will love it once they do it, but the challenge is in the marketing.
This year is the second year of advertising the ‘Marriage Preparation’ course, at our local Wedding Expo.

Tessa's Story: Inviting Friends, Part Two
In our June Transforming we started telling you about Tessa's experience inviting friends to an Alpha Course. Here is the 2nd half....
One of the things that my friends really appreciated about the Alpha course is that everything was open to question. I think they appreciated the fact that no-one was necessarily telling them what to believe, but just giving them the Christian point of view and evidence for our faith, and what they chose to do with it was up to them. It wasn’t intrusive at all, didn’t tell them that they were terrible people or that they were going to go to hell. It left room for them to both ask difficult questions, and answer them honestly, even if it wasn’t necessarily what they thought a Christian would want to hear. It allowed them to be real about it."

Greg Taylor, Alpha in the Workplace Coordinator reviews the book,
"God at Work" by Ken Costa.
I read and enjoyed God at Work. The book was very informative and encouraging to those Christians who work Monday to Friday before joining with others to worship on Sunday or their chosen day of the week. Having completed the book it was decided that the church where I worship, St Margaret’s Anglican Church would run the course. We have now completed two courses.
The course affirmed our church members and empowered them to be Christians in their work place.

The aim of The Marriage Preparation Course is to give engaged couples the practical tools they need to build a strong and lasting marriage.
